San Carlos has more than 800 varieties of maritime species in San Carlos and ranks second in the world for sport fishing. During the summer Dorado (Mahi Mahi, Dolphin Fish), Yellowfin Tuna, Sailfish (Pez Vela), Marlin ad Wahoo are the most common catches. In the winter months Yellowtail, Cabrilla, Calico Bass, Snapper (Pargo), Sierra Mackerel and Bonita are favorites.

The Hattie's easy access to and from the bridge make her a very comfortable fishing and cruising platform as everyone is able to "hunt" from the bridge with 360 degree vistas and be only several steps from the cockpit and the battle. This sure beats being stuck down in the cockpit looking out the back end of the boat all day.
